Whisky Tasting and Various Brews of Whisky

Scotch is an alcoholic beverage, which is considered to be consumed in great quantities throughout the world, and it has maintained that trend for over a hundred years now. As the name suggests, this whisky was first produced in Scotland and after 1494, it became very popular drink.

Once the drink started spreading across the world, various countries came up with various ways of distilling the scotch which made the drink ever so tasty. When it comes to whisky tasting, the drink should be sweeter, fuller and stronger.

Together with KFC, Kentucky is also known to produce the Bourbon whisky. In fact, it is the sole producer of this type, and regardless of what the myth says about many states producing the same kind, but the truth remains that Bourbon is only produced in Kentucky and nowhere else. The main secret of Bourbon is that it is made from 51% corn.
After this, they are stored carefully in charred oak barrels where they are kept for around two years. The spirit of the drink is in its raw form, and it may or may not exceed the alcohol volume by 80%. Another very popular brew is the Tennessee. Though, they are said to be very closely related, but they have a few differences as well. Unlike Bourbon which has 51% corn, the Tennessee is always filtered through sugar maple charcoal.
The main similarity between Bourbon and Tennessee is that just like Bourbon solely produced in Kentucky, Tennessee is also produced solely in the state of Tennessee. Jack Daniels and George Dickel are the two brands of Tennessee whisky which are available currently.

Rye and wheat whisky are the third type of brew which the distilleries have come up with. Normally, the rye whisky is mixed with some other products to get a different kind of whisky. But the important thing is that a very small amount is actually bottled and sold to people. In order to get a good rye whisky, there should be at least 51% rye and the storing and distilling will be the same as done in the Bourbon brew.
Rye whisky is mostly manufactured in the states of Indiana and in some parts of Kentucky, but the ones in Kentucky is slightly bitter and has a more powerful taste which is quite uncommon. The predecessor of Bourbon is the corn whisky, and this was very obvious because of the overwhelming surplus of corn. Corn is the most vital ingredient used in this whisky and takes up as much as 80%.

The main difference between this and the Bourbon is that the former has to be stored in wood unlike Bourbon which is stored in charred oak barrels. Lastly, the blended whisky, and the specialty of this type is that it contains 20% of Bourbon whisky and rye.

One of the main reasons this whisky is so popular is because it is cheaper than the others, and the taste is also a mixture of two other whisky which gives a different flavor altogether. You can get more details about whisky tasting at Whisky Live.
